There are over 16,000 date producing palms planted in the Jordan Valley. The date palm needs 1 cubic meter of water daily to flourish. In order to have successful agriculture, great quantities of water is needed. The water in the Tirza Reservoir comes from the Tirza Stream in the Shomron and from the Kidron Stream in Jerusalem.
