This week my wife and I were babysitting for our grandchildren. We were challenged into finding them suitable enjoyable and educational activities. We knew we had to keep them away from the TV as best as we could. I wanted very much to integrate an activity that blended "play", "learning" and "tours" for the children. We started with a treasure hunt. The children were taught the basics of reading a map, recognizing ravines, mountain ranges, mountain saddles, and reading the map's key. One can also use the map activity in your local neighborhood or in a national park. Have a great "remainder of the summer vacation.
Remember! Enjoy the kids
